[Remote] Dental & Vision Business Compliance Manager - Cigna Healthcare - Remote

The Dental & Vision Business Compliance Manager will lead compliance initiatives, implement regulations, and promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of new and changed regulations by working with business stakeholders
  • Partner with business unit leaders to identify emerging trends and potential compliance risk areas
  • Develop, review and analyze functional unit or LOB specific metrics to monitor compliance
  • Develop, implement and oversee a business compliance program in alignment with the Enterprise Compliance Program
  • Partner with State and Federal Compliance Managers regarding impacts of legislation, regulations and other directives potentially impacting the business; monitor implementation plans and escalate significant barriers to leadership
  • Initiate, track and monitor corrective action plans resulting from regulatory examinations and other internal/external analyses and audits
  • Consult with business unit or matrix partners to support self-audits, internal audits and compliance certification activities
  • Provide subject matter expertise on compliance impacts of projects and other proposed activities
  • Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior by undertaking enterprise compliance initiatives, compliance remediation, and training and communication initiatives
  • Identify and evaluate compliance best-practices across the enterprise and industry for implementation in business unit
  • Represent the corporation on regulatory and industry committees and projects as needed
  • Ensure the adoption and implementation of published privacy standards and policies within assigned business area
  • Provide feedback on developed privacy policies, as appropriate
  • Ensure the creation of procedures to support published standards and policies
  • Provide risk information to support annual privacy risk assessments
  • Promote awareness, education and compliance with privacy issues within assigned business area
  • Participate on information incident teams when the incident involves assigned business area; provide support and remediate any gaps, as appropriate
  • Support the Enterprise Privacy Office in any privacy compliance related matters
  • Attend and actively participate in quarterly Privacy Steward meetings
  • Champion privacy program-related activities within assigned business area

Skills

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent experience; minimum 5+ years of compliance/regulatory experience
  • Strong knowledge of Cigna’s Dental and Vision businesses
  • Familiarity with insurance, healthcare, legal, government/regulatory environment to understand and articulate compliance barriers and suggest compliant alternatives
  • Ability to assess risk from multiple angles (compliance, regulatory, business)
  • Ability to synthesize the risk issues into actionable steps to mitigate
  • Ability to develop and nurture strong relationships with business leaders
  • Ability to act as a change agent for improvements: Compliance and Privacy risk mitigation
  • Diligence in oversight and monitoring
  • Superior verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task in deadline driven environment with competing priorities.
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently
  • Results oriented with ability and willingness to work in matrix environment.
