We are now seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Data Entry Specialist to join our Release of Information (ROI) team on an overnight shift. About the Role As a Medical Records Data Entry Specialist on our ROI team, you will play a crucial role in document preparation, claims processing, and data entry. Your primary responsibilities will include verifying information, preparing correspondence with insurance agents, beneficiaries, attorneys, patients, and hospital staff, and maintaining accurate records. This position requires strong organizational and clerical skills, with attention to detail being essential for success. Key Responsibilities: Perform document preparation and data entry tasks with high accuracy and efficiency. Communicate effectively with insurance agents, beneficiaries, attorneys, patients, and hospital staff. Prepare claim forms and related documentation for audits and/or mail out. Review claim submissions and verify the information for accuracy and completeness. Record and maintain policies and claims information in database systems. Comply with federal, state, and company regulation policies. Perform clerical tasks as required, including sorting and/or preparing hard copy records for scanning. Scan hard copy files to electronic images, ensuring a quality image. Follow production procedures and complete internal documentation & tracking. Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: Essential Qualifications: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and computer knowledge. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management. 1+ year of medical data entry experience. 1+ year of medical front desk experience. Ability to remove staples, sort, file, and box records. Must be able to maintain record order and sequence. Understanding of the importance of detail and accuracy. Ability to work at a sustained pace to meet production rates while producing quality work. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with medical terminology and healthcare operations. Familiarity with database systems and electronic records management.
