Are you a data-driven problem solver with a passion for energy markets? We’re hiring on behalf of a global leader in market intelligence for a Data Analyst to join their dynamic Oil, Fuels & Chemicals Market Insights team.

 

This is a fully remote, US-based position on an initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension.

 

About the Role


In this high-impact role, you’ll work at the intersection of data science, energy economics, and global trends. You’ll partner closely with industry experts to build intelligent data models that decode margins, forecast shifts, and deliver insights across the oil and refining sectors.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

·         Design and deploy advanced models using Python and SQL to track energy trends and market margins

·         Integrate geopolitical, environmental, and regulatory dynamics into your models

·         Leverage AI and prompt engineering to automate reporting and unlock deeper insights

·         Collaborate with analysts to ensure clean, accurate, and real-world-reflective data

·         Continuously improve tools through performance monitoring and innovation

·         Dive into research that informs strategy, identifies competitors, and reveals market opportunities



Requirements

What You’ll Bring

·         Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field

·         3+ years in a data analysis or modeling role—ideally with exposure to oil, gas, or refining

·         Proficiency in Python, SQL, and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Matplotlib)

·         Familiarity with generative AI and how to apply it to real-world data tasks

·         Clear communication and a collaborative spirit across technical and commercial teams

 

Bonus Points For:

·         Industry experience in refining, petrochemicals, or commodity markets

·         Understanding of regulatory environments

·         Knowledge of machine learning, forecasting, or big data tools
