Cyber Security Junior Analyst
About the position
The Cyber Security Junior Analyst position at Broward County involves analyzing computer application programs and supporting computer hardware devices. The role requires independent work under limited supervision, focusing on monitoring and mitigating cybersecurity threats, performing risk assessments, and developing security policies. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to implement security solutions and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and correlate cybersecurity events to identify and mitigate network cybersecurity threats. ,
- Assist with complex tasks and requests and escalate or resolve as appropriate. ,
- Configure, evaluate, and manage a variety of tools used to prevent cyberattacks against the County's data and infrastructure. ,
- Perform risk assessments, assess security risks, and facilitate remediation of identified cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities. ,
- Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to standardize security controls for the County. ,
- Research technology solutions, provide recommendations, and lead projects to implement recommendations to address security controls and requirements. ,
- Collaborate with stakeholders, colleagues, and business partners to deliver high-quality security solutions. ,
- Remain current in regulatory requirements and industry standards such as NIST, OWASP, HIPAA, PCI, and CJIS. ,
- Answer customer phone calls for service and provide first level over-the-phone problem resolutions. ,
- Respond to second level field support customer service calls; process customer requests for new services related to desktop hardware and software. ,

Requirements
- Requires a two (2) year degree from an accredited trade, technical or vocational school, college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field. ,
